The Carinda Hotel, which is well-known for appearing in a David Bowie 1980s film clip titled “Lets Dance,” is situated in the small community of Carinda, New South Wales, and serves as the ideal stopping spot between Walgett and Nyngan. The Carinda Hotel, which is currently under new management, provides free camping, bar, and cabin lodging for tourists, as well as delectable fare, icy beverages, and warm rural hospitality.
Back of the hotel offers free camping, which is best suited to people who are self-sufficient or completely self-contained. The use of the hotel showers is free for campers, and there is no time restriction on your stay. Although there are two slab sites with 10 amp power available if you need it, the sites are flat, grassy, and unpowered, there are two slab sites with 10 amp power available.
Take a break from cooking and enjoy a delectable pub meal at the hotel, which is open daily from midday. The hotel offers excellent old-fashioned rural hospitality and a new menu for lunch and dinner.
You may like to share an ice cool drink and a conversation with one of the welcoming locals or get your picture taken in front of the well-known Bowie wall while the hotel serves a range of tap or bottled beer, spirits, or wine.
The town pool and a park with a playground for children are also adjacent to the hotel. You may buy a range of fresh vegetables and groceries at the hotel every Wednesday.

GETTING THERE
In between the towns of Walgett and Nyngan is the little settlement of Carinda. Following Gibson Way from Quambone, turn right onto Carinda Road, stay on Carinda Road, and it will merge into McNamara Street. Turn right into Colin Street after 180 metres. Just after the Shell Garage, 260 metres away on the right, is the hotel.
Travel along Cumberdoon Way from Walgett, which merges onto McNamara Street. After making a left onto Colin Street, proceed as before.

Every year in honour of David Bowie, the Carinda village hosts the “Let’s Dance” celebration over the long weekend in October.
