The Heartbreak Story
There are two rumours as to how Heartbreak got its name.
The first was that getting building materials on site, finding men to carry out the work and set-backs took its toll on the original owner, The building crew realised how heart-breaking it all was on him and nick-named it The Heartbreak Hotel, The owner did not like it, but it eventually stuck and has been known as this since 1979.
The second is that after all this had happened the owner and his wife split up, hence if you were to go to the Hotel you would get your heart broken.
The real reason remains a mystery ..
